Just Jan's Savory Green Beans
1 lb Green beans, cleaned and ends trimmed
6 strips Bacon chopped into 1/2″ pieces (of your choice -we used apple smoked)
1/2 lb. Cremini mushrooms, cleaned and sliced
1/2 jar Just Jan’s Balsamic Onion Savory Spread
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
Salt and Pepper to taste
In a non-stick skillet, fry the bacon until crisp.
Remove bacon from pan and set on a paper towel to drain keeping the bacon grease in pan.
Sauté the mushrooms until tender then remove and set aside in a separate bowl, again keeping the bacon grease in the pan.
Add the butter to the bacon grease and melt the butter. Put the green beans in the pan and toss to coat, sauté cooking until the beans are al dente then add the Balsamic onion spread stirring until incorporated and heated through (or till beans reach desired tenderness). Season with salt and freshly ground pepper to taste. In a large bowl combine the green beans, mushrooms & bacon.
