Day 42 - Just Jan’s Overwhelmed is an understatement.
First, I want to thank you all for signing up for emails, purchasing Just Jan’s and spreading the word about our small business. Kris and I appreciate your support and all you bring to our food lovers community. During this time, we are continuing to ship orders, create original recipes and develop new products for future release. We’ve been getting a lot of gift orders - people sending cheer to friends and family so THANK YOU!
It’s taken me until this week to feel like writing and sharing. It really wasn’t until this past Monday that I was able to get through a day without crying. I know I’m not alone. We are not alone and we all deal with the stress of what’s happening globally in different ways and on varying time tables. I think I’ve tapped so many emotions & feelings over the course of the last 6 weeks - fear, anxiety, grief, anger, frustration, sadness, powerlessness to shreds of hope. Hope, and a strange calmness that we will be okay and Just Jan’s will thrive. None of us are sure when our lives will be getting back to some normalcy but I am personally working to get in a new groove with what is. Since I cannot control what’s happening, and worrying about the future is a waste of time and energy - I’ve decided that finding a rhythm in what I can do and allowing myself to have those emotional moments when they arise, works best. That, and Kris and our daily video chats help but I do miss our working together side by side.
For the time being, I will continue to crank up the music in my kitchen and hone my bread baking as well as cocktail creation skills.
