Where Have I Loved

Where have I loved?
A heart, so iced over,
Winter-it's rival.
A frown-pressed line
between my eyes.
Always watching the ground.
Smiles are unsafe.

Where have I loved?
Only the history
Of past hurts for company.
Draw the shades shut.
The friendly knocks unanswered.
People are pain.

Where have I loved?
Frost twines in the
midnight dusk of my hair.
( A bit chilly, this night)
These old bones
Dont seem to hold as they used to.
Bang! Goes the door,
As the snow blows in.
And yet
Where have I loved?
