Prison Walls

The iron bars of the Institution
hold the hands of guilty men
single file they march to the roll call
unaware of who might befriend
carrying the chains of bondage
the criminals sin to bare
identified by a number
by those who dared to care
The cell to ugly a reflection
instead he stares through the Iron bars
Wiping away the occasional tears
from all of his unseen scars.
