A truth unvieled upon a listening ear
was considered and kept in mind.
Held tight so as not to lose it
like a gemstone one of a kind
Polished, to enhance it's value
insured out of respect
had it secured in a gold setting
and warn arround the kneck
Unlike the ear of a deaf man
although eyes to see it shine
did not hear of its value
and sold it for a lousy dime
But even the ear of a dumb man
and witless in his thought
gripped it tightly in his hand
and said.:"Hey look what I got'!!
