Romance of Yesteryear...
Where hath romance of yesteryear
Those days of courting gone?
When a stolen kiss was oh, so dear,
A gentleman caller brought such cheer;
'Twas what ladies thrived upon.
Romance now lost? How could it be?
That we've misplaced that treasure?
Those days of courting, oh how we
Loved attentions so from he-
Found in romance such pleasure.
Oh romance! How I long to share
Yesteryears courting days;
A gentleman caller, oh, so fair,
Whom I would give to tender care;
And charm with the sweetest of ways.
