Without You

When the sea
Crashes and roars
I would through my heart
Unto the swirl of it.
Watch it float away
Into timeless yesterdays.
Feel the tears
Run down my face
As cold empty air
Scratches at my eyes
And my living soul
Cannot withstand
As I feel it turn to stone
In the cold winter wind.
And all my tomorrows
Turn around and taunt me,
Riding on the backs of waves
Falling towards me through the
Rolling sea.
Never again
Will I feel so lonely
With battles raging
In the essence of my life.
My grief seeks to drown me
With all that is unholy.
Holiness has fled
Cherubim and Seraphim
Long since gone away
Leaving me alone
Without you.
