Fairy Child

The sun is setting
Behind mountains and lakes
A rose red light is descending
Leaving behind it the magical veil of night

Have you ever sat in your
Fragrant garden or wood
To watch the awakening
Of the fairies
And watch them do their work

The moon flower's
Are opening
Their snowy white virgin
Silken petals
Reveal a shimmering, shining
Glitter-winged
Fairy
Stretching and yawning

She wears
A dress
Made of ivy and silver
Her delicate white feet covered by
Slippers made of clear crystals and gems
Her hair
Is lithe and made of dust and love

She tests her wings
And sits on her flower's
Leaves
As sisters rise

Some wear emeralds,
Some wear gold
Some wear rubies,
And some wear white

They begin
To giggle
Awaiting the
Full yellow moon's
Call

Then they rise as a whole
Wings beating softly and soothingly
Like swans or doves
They drift to a calm serene pond

They dip into its
Cool waters
And bathe
Crystal droplets like a blanket
Their wings
Glistening
Then they rise
And go to work

One takes her
Fairy dust
Bright and illuminating
She blows it into
A lilly

They all continue
Singing the animals to sleep
Until the garden
Is full of
Sweet smelling flowers and plants
Sunflowers, smile
Blood red roses curtsy,
Daisies smile,
The ivy creeps

Then they yawn
And their eyelids droop
They curl up in their moon flowers
And the sun
Begins to chase away the night
Shining on the miracles
And letting the flower's closing be seen
A little lost motherless child
Curly blonde hair
With a sweet smile
Innocent
Shining green eyes
She sighs in wonder
At the sight before her
And yawns.

She lays down
On a soft piece of earth
The trees make
A root bed
The willows cover her
The fox curls up as a pillow
And a fairy chorus arises
And they curl up with her
Hidden by the garden
And sleep
Until the next full moon
When the child shall help.
