In Defiance of Dreams
The still of the water draws me close to it's shore.
My eyes are fixed by it's sun drenched lure.
Like a child I kneel to feel the warm breath of this ancient sea.
What secrets lie beneath it,the stories it may hold.
How many dreamers might have pass this way hoping to defy the night for but one more day.
What loves...what tears...no one can say.
I....like all before me have my dreams
like the sand beneath my feet, so many....
or perhaps so few.
If I could keep but one in defiance of all,
if just one dream alone might rise to my mortality,
it would be to stand with you along this shore,
hand in hand in need of nothing more than to love by the warm of an ancient sea.
