Deams Of Orange

reasons unknown
stumbling upon an unfamiliar apartment
front door ajar
i'm compelled to peek through
now i fully appreciate why
curiosty
overcomes a cats' better sense
as i wander through
a stench filled haze
shades of orange and red
overcomes and intoxicates my senses
i stagger further
and
notice a grease caked stove
with a blue and orange flame on the burner
it sparks a fire
and
at that moment
i notice
my orange cat has ran away
