Quickening
I felt a tingling down my spine
The light of an existence shine
A sudden voice so far, now nearing
Total sharpening of my hearing
My senses doubling in power
The touch, the smell, an unknown flower
She came to me without a sword
And beckoned to me to come aboard
My gaze was caught by that thin line
Of female beauty, almost devine
I felt no fear, could not resist
Unclenched my hand, no longer fist
She asked me first to free her soul
Though as it seemed not her only goal
My answer brought a lovely smile
That stayed there longer, than a while
I told her that she could go free
But that I wanted her to be
With me at least a thousand years
To live, and love and laugh, no fears
She asked me if I could be true
I had to smile and told her: You
Don't have to worry, as you now may
I won't leave you, on any day
If souls and bodies could really melt
That then describes the feeling I felt
In pure ecstasy, I heard her moan
The rhythm of my own loud groan
Thunder, silence, flashing lightning
As we, together, undergo our Quickening
We know that this will ever last
Ours is the future, though we had no past
This is no cult, and no belief
But passionate love, without any grief
We'll live as one a thousand years
As Friends, as Mates, as Lovers without fears
